Congo in Limbo

2010

Congo in Limbo is the photographic essay that Cédric Gerbehaye has produced in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the fruit of time spent and rigorous commitment. The country is observed here from a point of view that reflects its complexity and the interweaving of a little-known conflict.

Stephen Smith (journalist and author, specialist in Africa), Andrew Philip (researcher on the DRC for Amnesty International) and Christian Caujolle (founder and artistic advisor of the VU’ agency and gallery) shed relevant light on this visual and journalistic investigation, which constitutes an essential testimony on Africa’s Great Lakes.
